Daily Look: Red Belt

I found this dress on consignment, and just love the shape and the cute red belt! Black, white, and red are such a classic combination, so I hope this will be a dress that I can wear for years. I was feeling very retro walking the hallways, and even got some sweet compliments from my female students. There is just nothing like hearing "You look pretty today, Ms. Fisk" to brighten your day!

I wore this outfit to run some errands with my mom. Somehow, we ended up at Marshall's, and we may or may not have been there for hours. It's kind of like an adventure for the not-very-adventurous among us. I guess it's the thrill of the chase. I am a big game hunter, and my prey is a good deal.

You can tell Lauren is in town because I have some new items in my wardrobe. For a girl with a fashion blog, I am really not much of a shopper, but Lauren has an awesome eye and incredible endurance when it comes to shopping. On our last trip to the outlet mall, she found me this adorable blouse and comfortable heels, long after I had given up shopping and started complaining about my feet hurting.

I wore this outfit over the weekend to go to dinner with my mom and stepdad. We had a great time eating pasta and pizza and getting a year's supply of carbs and gooey cheese. Sadly, these pants took a hit due my clumsiness--apparently I simply cannot eat bread and butter without getting some on myself, even with a napkin in my lap the whole time. It's a serious problem. My name is Lauren, and I am a stainiac.

It was an action packed St. Patrick's Day around here, and I made sure that I avoided those nasty pinches by wearing plenty of green. We had a birthday party for my eight year old cousin in the early afternoon, followed by an Irish feast. I was very glad that I wore comfortable clothes with a stretchy waistline. Not much beats a multiple dessert day!

Now it's back to the grind. Goodbye spring break, you will be missed!

Runway to Reality: L'Wren Scott Spring 2013

Like Nicole Kidman and a whole slew of stylish celebrities, I'm a huge fan of L'Wren Scott. Her clothes are cut beautifully and are always effortlessly chic. This look from her Spring 2013 collection especially caught my eye.

I love how it combines patterns and bright colors, yet manages to look polished. And wouldn't those green pants be perfect for St. Patrick's Day? If you, like me, like this outfit a whole lot more than its price tag, check out my version for the girl on a budget.

Just tuck a plaid shirt (which you probably already own) into brightly colored pants, top it off with a floral jacket, throw on some colorful shoes and lipstick and you've got yourself a runway-worthy look.

I got a great surprise when I came home from TSHA this week. Lauren had hit an awesome sale at Ann Taylor, and picked me up this adorable, bright blouse! I, of course, had to wear it right away. A blouse that can work in casual and work outfits is always welcome in my closet. Thanks, Lala!
