Dress: Loft // Shirt: Missoni for Target // Boots, Belt: Banana Republic // Tights: Nicole Miller // Earrings: Gift // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
After seeing shirts layered underneath dresses on so many runways (including Milly, Victoria Beckham, and Derek Lam) during New York Fashion Week, I figured I'd give it a go. This shift is the perfect layering piece because of its basic shape and color. I like the way that the Missoni for Target blouse gives a mod, 60s-inspired feel to the outfit. As an added bonus, adding another layer to cover up my arms and neck means that I can wear this dress on chillier days than I normally would.

I love how you aren't afraid to be daring with your style. I've thought of the shirt/dress layers and keep shying away from it - but this looks fantastic. Also - the boots and tights pull your look together perfectly.
Wow, what a wonderful compliment. There are actually a lot of things that scare me, fashion-wise, but sometimes I just put the fear out of my head and wear it anyway. I used to be so afraid to wear things that didn't exactly match. I thought someone would call me out on it and embarrass me (which has actually happened!), but now I just don't worry as much.
What a cool outfit, I would have never thought of it!
I can't believe that someone actually called you on not exactly matching. So tacky of them.
woah. sweet tights; happy colors for winter.
