Daily Look: Business Class

Blouse, Shoes, & Bracelets: Banana Republic // Skirt: Loft // Necklace: Nordstrom //Earrings: Limited

Lauren got me hooked on these stretchy button-ups, and now I can't imagine my work wardrobe without them. They are equal parts comfortable and professional, and I don't have to worry about them coming untucked all day long. I added the long necklace because I thought the outfit needed a little sparkle. Bright nails and lips also helped to keep this conservative look youthful.

Daily Look: Grey Lady

Sweater, Blazer: Loft // Skirt: Gap // Shoes: Cooperative via Urban Outfitters // Necklace: Banana Republic // Earrings: Gift // Tights: Francesca's // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

I wore this look to eat brunch (aka stuff my pie hole with delicious but unhealthy food). I may or may not have eaten my weight in bacon, eggs, cheesy hash browns, scones, and caramel rolls. Obviously, dressing for such an occasion means choosing something that does not constrict the waist; after all, one must have one's priorities in order. I went with an all grey and black look that would match my nails, which I painted in shades of gunmetal, dove grey, and silver.

Daily Look: Staying Neutral

Sweater, Tights, & Bracelet: Francesca's // Skirt: Anthropologie // Boots: Seychelles via Endless // Earrings: Etsy

I bought these tights specifically to go with my new wedge boots, and I am just now putting them together! I had a hard time finding any tights that matched, because they aren't quite brown and they aren't quite gray, but I think they work well with this purplish neutral palate. This sweater was an awesome gift from my mom last Christmas; I feel like I am wearing a corsage without having to worry that it is tearing a hole in my top!

Twin Styled: Pretty in Pastel

Pretty in Pastel

Although the weather here in Indiana has been freezing cold and snowy, the fact that we have left February and moved into March has gotten me daydreaming about spring. I don't know about you, but when I think of spring, pastels immediately come to mind. I decided to shop for pastel clothes and accessories in shades of robin's egg blue, sweet pink, mint green, and soft lavender. Every item in this collection is under $100, many are under $50, and you could mix and match to create endless combinations. I'd love to wear these outfits to dine alfresco, take a leisurely stroll, or go out for ice cream. Do you plan to incorporate pastels into your spring wardrobe?

Daily Look: Gray and Gold

Sweater: Asos // Jacket: Ann Taylor // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Aldo // Earrings: Gift

I bought a suit that was on sale while I was in graduate school, thinking that I would surely need it when I began interviewing for jobs. As it happened, all of my interviews had to be scheduled during my lunch breaks while I interned in a hospital, so I wore scrubs to every one. Fortunately, while I may not have occasion to wear them together, the jacket and skirt both work well with other items in my closet, like this bright sweater. It just goes to show you, classic pieces are always a good investment.

Daily Look: Golden Girl

Blouse: Loft // Cardigan: Victoria's Secret // Pants: Gap // Shoes: Nine West via Endless // Clutch: Forever 21 // Earrings: Francesca's

While I normally reserve this shiny cardigan for the holidays, I needed something to wear over my blouse and decided to throw caution to the wind and wear it--just in case you forgot, I totally live on the edge. Have I told you about the time when I was 15 and bought tickets to a PG-13 movie but then actually went to see Erin Brockovich?!! Totally hardcore, I know. What about the time when I used a preposition at the end of a sentence?! Or when I trashed a hotel room? Okay, maybe not that last one...

Anyhoo, while the sparkles definitely fancy it up a bit, the overall look is still fairly laid back (especially on a day so cloudy that the sun never showed its pretty face, making the sequins less noticeable). I threw my hair up because it was being uncooperative, but I actually like how it turned out. I think I'll have to try it again sometime!

Daily Look: Dress Alternative

Blouse/Dress: Banana Republic // Skirt: Anthropologie // Shoes: BC Footwear via Endless // Earrings: Etsy

Having a blog is awesome, because it forces you to shop your closet instead of just wearing the same outfits over and over. Today's look was inspired by several fashion bloggers who have stretched their wardrobes by using their dresses as skirts or blouses. This dress was an especially good candidate since the all-over pattern makes it so noticeable that I feel like I have to wait a long time between wears. Tucked into this white skirt, it is transformed, and I get twice the use out of it!
