Daily Look: Striped and Tied

Shirt & Shorts: Gap // Shoes: Chinese Laundry via ModCloth // Earrings: Old Navy // Ring: Asos

This is an outfit that I wore last weekend, relaxing in the beautiful, changing weather. This is definitely my favorite time of year because I can wear shorts or jeans, and be equally comfortable. It makes me want to be outside every moment. Unfortunately, now it's back to the grind, working through all of the daylight hours until Friday. Good thing I love my job, otherwise I don't know how I'd drag myself inside!

Daily Look: Aquamarine and Grassy Green

Shirt: J. Crew // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Taryn by Taryn Rose via DSW // Bracelet: James Avery // Earrings: Loft

I wore green eyeshadow to work yesterday, so when it was time to change clothes before going out to dinner, I decided to let it serve as my outfit inspiration. Yeah, this is a pretty spring-y color palette, but I can't help loving bright, fresh colors year-round. Still, the slight chill in the air that I felt this morning is getting me excited for sweaters, boots, and jewel tones.

Do you tend to change color palettes with the weather?

Halloween Costume Inspiration: Joan Rivers

Joan Rivers Costume

As a dedicated viewer of Fashion Police, I thought it would be fun to dress up this Halloween as the leading lady herself--Joan Rivers! I got this idea right after last Halloween, and have been hoping for an opportunity to wear it ever since. Ms. Rivers actually has her own (very chic) uniform, so she is pretty easy to imitate with items you might already have in your wardrobe. Just put a blazer over black basics, throw on plenty of jewelry, and don't forget the nail art! If you can find an old fur at a thrift shop, even better. But be sure she doesn't spot you, or you may end up on B*#!& Stole My Look!

Any other Joan Rangers out there who are ready to clip in a hair extension and take a few celebrities down a notch this Halloween?

Daily Look: Tangerine Tango

Dress: Banana Republic Factory // Shoes: Taryn by Taryn Rose via DSW // Earrings: Target // Sunglasses: via Marshall's

This is the time of year when it starts to get pretty darn chilly up in Indiana, but here in Texas, it's back to feeling like summer after a brief cold front last weekend. It was in the mid-nineties today, so it was a good thing I opted for a lightweight, comfortable dress. I scored this baby over the summer for under $20, and when I found another one, I forced it on Sam and made her buy one too (I mean, I let her try it on first). I'm a bit of a shopping pusher.

Do you ever shop for your friends and family? Do they ever shop for you?

Daily Look: Country Style

Shirt: J. Crew // Skirt: American Apparel // Shoes: Chinese Laundry via ModCloth // Hair clip: Loft // Earrings: Gift // Bracelet: H&M

This is a look that I wore to work that I think really fits into the small town aesthetic where I work. Not that most people out in the country wear faded floral shirts, or anything much different than we do in the city, but this is how I like to imagine that things are. Does that make any sense? Anyways, I am loving this amazing weather, and that is all that really matters!

Anyone else enjoying the cooler mornings, and maybe a pumpkin-y treat or two?

Daily Look: Cheetah or Leopard?

Shirt: Ann Taylor // Pants: Loft // Shoes: J. Crew // Bag: Banana Republic // Bracelets: Forever 21 // Earrings: Target

Well, I had to look it up, but Professor Google tells me that these pants are in fact cheetah print (I think). Zoology aside, I wore this outfit on Saturday to do a little shopping. Sadly, I came away empty-handed (even after trying on 7 items plus several pairs of shoes), but my husband hit the jackpot, which marks the second time in a row that he's had better luck shopping than I have. And I was the one who wanted to go! No fairsies! Alas, my hunt for more pairs of comfortable (but not ugly) shoes continues, as it probably always will. They are my Holy Grail.

Do you like to shop with your significant other, a friend, or alone, lone wolf-style? Is there an item of clothing that you're forever looking for, like me?
