Daily Look: Primary Colors

Shirt: Modcloth // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: J. Crew // Rings: Madewell // Earrings: Francesca's // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

I paired this top with these pants because I liked the way the little flecks of red in the shirt's pattern matched the color of the jeans. I wasn't thinking about the fact that the blue and red of this outfit, combined with the yellow of my nails, made for a very kindergarten paint set-inspired color palette. In fact, I used to have a pretty sweet artist's smock in these very same shades. My name was embroidered on it, and it was my prized possession, never mind the fact that I was not then and will never be much of an artist.

Would you wear red, blue, and yellow? What did you do this weekend?

Daily Look: Rain Rain Go Away

Jacket: Anthropologie // Pants & Shoes: J. Crew // Earrings: Target // Rings: Limited, Asos

It was a yucky, rainy day in Plano today, but at least I got to bust out my trench coat! Honestly I get excited when I see rain on the forecast because I just love this jacket.  I always wanted a trench coat, and when I saw the ruffles and pretty lining of this one when I opened it a couple of Christmases ago, I was in heaven.   Now umbrella hats just need to come into style and I'll really be a happy camper!

Outfit Inspiration: Glamorous Beachwear

It's only been a week since I was cruising through the Caribbean during spring break, but I'm already looking ahead to summer. I've been pining for summery dresses, breezy blouses, and comfortable sandals. But it was this picture of a bathing beauty that popped up on Pinterest that really got me in the mood for the beach.

Doesn't she just look so incredibly glamorous? I honestly don't know if I have the guts to wear such a statement-making, high-waisted bikini, but I think she looks amazing in it.

Beach Glamour

Would you wear a retro bathing suit like this? Are you looking forward to summer yet?

PS Does anyone know who took this picture? A reverse Google search turned up nada.

Daily Look: Pastel Pants

Blouse & Earrings: Loft // Jeans: J. Crew // Shoes: Aldo //  Rings: Madewell, Limited, Asos

I spent way too long picking out this outfit for an event that turned out to be a total bust.  I tucked in my shirt all the way.  I untucked it all the way.  I attempted to artfully half-tuck it.  I then repeated this process at least twice.  Finally I buckled my shoes and headed out to an apartment complex event that promised "a great spread" of food.  Well, the food did not turn out to exist, so I left the event almost immediately.  Of course, this meant that I ended up wearing this outfit for less time than I spent putting it on, but I guess sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles.  And no, they didn't even have cookie crumbs to nibble on!

Daily Look: Bring on Spring

Shirt: J. Crew // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Forever 21 // Purse: Nine West via Marshall's // Bracelet: James Avery // Ring: Madewell

Well, it's officially spring, and even though the weather probably doesn't feel that way in many parts of the country, I'm ready to break out my warm-weather clothes and move my sweaters out of my closet (It's amazing how much space those suckers take up). I chose head-to-toe pastels this weekend to create an outfit that makes me look about as much like a watermelon as possible.

Has spring sprung where you live? Are you putting away your winter clothes?

Daily Look: Black Leather

Blouse: Loft // Pants: Ann Taylor // Shoes: Zara // Rings: Madewell, Limited, Vintage

I felt a little bad wearing an outfit that was all black and included leather and studs to work, but now that I'm looking at these pictures, maybe I'm not as much of a rebel as I was thinking.  My lacy shirt and pink lipstick go a long way towards softening this otherwise edgy (for me) outfit. Purple, glittery nails probably don't help either! But even if I wasn't quite as hardcore as I imagined, I definitely felt cooler than usual.   That's one of my favorite things about fashion; it gives you the ability to show off all of the different parts of your personality!

Daily Look: Work Sweats

Sweatshirt: J. Crew // Pants, Earrings: Loft // Shoes: Zara // Watch: Seiko // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

I like wearing florals of just about every kind, but metallic copper flowers on a sweatshirt just about take the cake. Growing up, I thought that sweats were the ugliest thing in the world, and I wouldn't have been caught dead wearing them in public, so it's kind of crazy how far they've come. Now they're feminine and pretty and I can even wear them to work. Who'd of thunk it?

Have you ever worn a sweatshirt to work? Would you?
