Daily Look: Carrot Top

Sweater: Loft // Blouse: Asos // Jeans: Gap // Boots: Sam Edelman via Nordstrom Rack

I was so excited about the price of this cardigan when I found it the other day, that I didn't even notice my favorite feature: see-through stripes! This sweater was made to go with anything, but I especially love how bright colors, like this orange, subtly peek through the gray. I am enjoying the perfect weather today, and trying to give my voice a rest so that I can recover from the Alamo Bowl in time to belt out some ballads tonight with the family. I'll never let my terrible singing voice get in the way of having fun, cringe all you like!

Daily Look: Business and Casual

Sweater, Blazer: Loft // Corduroys: Gap // Boots: Nine West // Earrings: Francesca's // Bracelet: J. Crew

I got this blazer as a Christmas present from my husband. I've been wanting one for awhile now, but just hadn't found one that I liked. I like the fact that blazers can be dressed up or down so easily. I wore this look for some more after-Christmas shopping with my mom and Sam, but changed into my green and gold when we went to the Alamo Bowl to see the Baylor Bears finish off their Heisman-winning season with a win over the Washington Huskies. Sic 'em Bears!

Daily Look: Stripes of Lace

Blouse: Francesca's // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Aldo // Earrings: Limited // Sunglasses: Nordstrom

The post-Christmas shopping continues, and I can't seem to walk into a store without finding a steal. I wore this outfit to the mall (we have been to three so far with my poor mom limping along in our wake), where I picked up a new shirt, two pairs of much needed jeans, and a sweater. This is one of the only times I shop during the year so I need to stock up!

Sweater: Loft // Skirt: Gap // Tights: Francesca's // Shoes: Betsey Johnson via endless.com // Earrings: Banana Republic // Bracelets: Forever 21 // Watch: Asos // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

I wore this outfit for a day of after-Christmas shopping with my mom, husband, and Sam. After we stuffed ourselves at Cha-Cho's, an amazing Tex-Mex restaurant, we hit the shops in search of bargains. I didn't buy much--just a pair of earmuffs, some tights, and a lipstick--but Sam made out like a bandit (or a banshee, as we say in our family).

Twin Styled: New Year's Eve

Happy New Year

As New Year's Eve approaches, I decided to put together a classy yet fun look that I would love to wear while ringing in the new year. I don't know about you, but when I think New Year's Eve, I think sparkles. I guess I just want to look like a disco ball while watching the ball drop. This year, we plan to spend our evening doing bad karaoke. Honestly, is there any other kind?

Daily Look: New Duds

Sweater: Loft // Blouse: Asos // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Aldo // Earrings: Francesca's

I had a hard time picking what to wear today from all my new Christmas clothes. Today's look is very sweet, from the adorable daisy earrings to the lovey pink blouse. This was comfy and cute for a relaxing day with the family, and could easily be dressed up with tights and a skirt for work. I hope you are all enjoying time with your families as much as we are!

Daily Look: Blue Christmas

Dress: Eva Franco via Anthropologie // Tights: Banana Republic // Shoes: Nine West // Hair Clip: H&M // Bracelets: J. Crew, Ann Taylor // Earrings: The Limited

Merry Christmas Eve! My family always gets gussied up for our annual Christmas Eve festivities at my dad's house, and I'm wearing this shimmering dress that I found at the end of last winter for nearly 90% off (seriously!). It's been sitting, lonely, in my closet for almost a year, waiting for a chance to show off. I'm excited to finally wear it, but I'm even more excited to spend time with my family, most of whom I haven't seen since my wedding last June.

Daily Look: Soldier Shoulders

Sweater: Loft // Pants: J. Crew // Boots: Aldo // Earrings: Limited

Every time I wear this sweater, I feel like I am wearing a sweet pair of epaulettes a la Cinderella's Prince Charming. Of course, mine are more festive because they are made of sparkles and beads rather than tassels. This is one of my very favorite holiday sweaters, and it adds something special to my casual winter wardrobe (sweater+pants+boots=go).

Daily Look: Black and White Town

Sweater, Tights, Skirt: Banana Republic // Shoes: Kimchi Blue via Urban Outfitters // Bracelet: H&M // Earrings: Wal-Mart // Scarf: Last Call by Neiman Marcus

This look is all about staying comfortably warm on a chilly, but not freezing, day. I've had this knit skirt since high school, and I love how soft and cozy it is. The low neckline of this sweater pretty much makes wearing a scarf mandatory--the difference that even a thin scarf makes never ceases to amaze me. Finally, a pair of tights keeps my legs plenty warm, despite many of my male students' insistence that this could not possibly be true.
