Daily Look: Bridal Shower

I wore this outfit to a bridal shower for one of my oldest friends over the weekend. We had punch, good food, and played lots of fun games. The one I was best at? Remembering exactly what the future bride was wearing (including her white fingernails and green toenails). What can I say? I'm observant!

Twin Styled: Beach Bag

It's the start of summer and the beach is beckoning, so I thought I'd share ideas for packing for a trip to the coast. When I'm heading to South Padre or Port Aransas, most of my bag space is taken up by swimsuits and sunscreen, but I do need a few other essentials. I like to keep it very simple by choosing one or two shirts that go with all of my bottoms. I also save space by limiting myself to only one pair of neutral shoes. I always bring a casual dress for dinners out, and switch out my purse for a beach bag. Some lip gloss and waterproof mascara are really the only makeup I (should) pack since the unbelievable humidity melts off my silly attempts at foundation. After that, it's just sunglasses and a paperback!

Daily Look: Extra Casual

This, my friends is about as casual as it gets. I have been spending a lot of time in this outfit (and a few variations of it) as it gets hotter and more humid here in Texas. I've worn it shopping, running errands, out to dinner, and everything in between because it's easy to throw on, summery, and super casual without being completely dumpy.

Daily Look: Flower Girl

I wore this look for yet another outing to HomeGoods--we are addicted, we know. It is always difficult to decide what to wear shopping in these parts because it is so hot outside, but the stores are frigid with air conditioning. Choosing jeans meant comfortable browsing and miserable treks through the parking lot. Soon though, it won't be so hard to decide. Once it gets above 100 degrees, the jeans head to the back of the closet.

For this outfit, I stuck with one of my favorite tried and true color combinations: red, white, and blue. Yeah, it's patriotic, but I feel confident that I'd love these colors even if I lived in Germany. I also incorporated one of my favorite makeup tricks and matched my lips to my shoes. Of course, this is probably the only pair of shoes where I could do that, as black and dark brown lips don't really suit me!

Last week, Lauren placed an online order for Ann Taylor, and I reaped the benefits.  This skirt didn't quite fit her, but I loved it. So I ended up with a new skirt and didn't even have to shop! I have been doing a lot of painting in the past week, so I am especially appreciative of its artistic pattern. I think that Lauren needs to be dissatisfied with her orders more often.
