Daily Look: Seven-Dollar Sundress

I found this dress while shopping for other (perhaps more practical) things at Target, and it was such a good deal that I definitely could not pass it up. I'm always looking for dresses like this--comfortable, bright, and fun--and when they also happen to cost less than ten bucks, well, I'm one happy camper. I'll definitely have to peruse Target's clearance racks more often!

Daily Look: Patterned Denim

Today I tried out mixing two denim pieces with subtle patterns. I always get a little nervous that people will think I'm cuckoo when I wear more than one pattern, but I have to remind myself that I always love it on other people. I thought it came out pretty well, and can definitely see myself getting a lot of wear out of this outfit this summer. So, oh well to the people who think it's too much; I'm wearing it anyway! 

Twin Styled: What to Wear on a Summer Date

For today's outfit inspiration, I decided to come up with a look that I'd want to wear on a summer date. Here in Texas, of course, dates during the summer typically involve either crazy cold air-conditioning (the movies!) or getting all wet (the pool!). But I have heard that in some states, outdoor activities where actual clothing is needed are popular during the summer. Oh yeah, I guess I used to live in one such state (Indiana, that is).

I'd love to wear this outfit shopping, bowling, or playing miniature golf. In a few months, when it's no longer so scorchingly miserable that the mere thought of being outside long enough to play a round of mini golf doesn't give me little sweat beads on my forehead, I might wear this very outfit to do it!

Daily Look: Shower Flowers

This is the outfit that I wore to the shower Lauren shared about yesterday. I love having a reason to dress up, and this one was especially good because I got to spend time with the future bride (my friend since 6th grade!!), and there was queso! I also learned to make ribbon bouquets--a task that I took very seriously. I can't wait until the wedding in August. It will be a great moment to share with the girl who was a part of almost every hilarious memory I have from middle school to college.

I wore this outfit to a bridal shower for one of my oldest friends over the weekend. We had punch, good food, and played lots of fun games. The one I was best at? Remembering exactly what the future bride was wearing (including her white fingernails and green toenails). What can I say? I'm observant!

Twin Styled: Beach Bag

It's the start of summer and the beach is beckoning, so I thought I'd share ideas for packing for a trip to the coast. When I'm heading to South Padre or Port Aransas, most of my bag space is taken up by swimsuits and sunscreen, but I do need a few other essentials. I like to keep it very simple by choosing one or two shirts that go with all of my bottoms. I also save space by limiting myself to only one pair of neutral shoes. I always bring a casual dress for dinners out, and switch out my purse for a beach bag. Some lip gloss and waterproof mascara are really the only makeup I (should) pack since the unbelievable humidity melts off my silly attempts at foundation. After that, it's just sunglasses and a paperback!
