Daily Look: Black, White, and Red

Shirt: Banana Republic // Skirt: Limited // Shoes: Nine West // Rings: Vintage

I love to wear pencil skirts, and this one is probably my favorite because it is professional, and the bright color makes it friendly enough to wear in an elementary school. Anything this apple red has to be school appropriate, right? And it matches my nails perfectly, something that my newly adopted habit of planning my outfits the night before allows. Yes, I have finally started taking Lauren's advice on that account, and it has done wonders for how quickly I can get ready, and how happy I am with my outfit when I walk out the door.

Do you plan your outfits the night before, or make it a game time decision?

Daily Look: Depeche Mode

Shirt, Skirt: Forever 21 // Shoes: Zara // Earrings: Loft

I wore this outfit Wednesday night to see Depeche Mode at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. I've loved Depeche Mode since I used to dance to them as a little kid, so when I found out they were coming to a venue just minutes from our place, I got very excited. My husband ended up surprising me with tickets as an anniversary present, and we had an amazing time. I've got to say, they may be in their fifties, but they have still got it.

Daily Look: Feeling Dotty

Shirt: Urban Outfitters // Jeans: J. Crew // Shoes: Vans via Marshall's // Earrings: Vintage

I was planning to wear this shirt with a skirt earlier in the week, but just as I was putting it on, I noticed that the pattern was the exact opposite of these sneakers. I got so excited that I decided to save the shirt for jeans day so I could wear them together. What can I say? I love polka dots! I have a feeling this is going to be my new go to outfit for the weekend.

Daily Look: Dyed to Match

Shirt: Forever 21 // Skirt: H&M // Shoes: J. Crew // Earrings: Loft

I was excited to wear this top and skirt together for a fun, matchy-matchy look. I even went matched my eye makeup to my nails! I wore this out to dinner with my husband last Friday night. We tried to go to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, but the parking lot was so full that we literally could not find a spot, even after circling the lot a few times. We were starving, so we left and ended up eating a lot of very unhealthy, very delicious southern-fried food instead. I'd say it all worked out.

How did you spend your weekend? Did it involve lots of delicious food?

Daily Look: Bright Blocks

Shirt: Old Navy // Skirt: Loft // Shoes: Bandolino via Endless // Jewelry: Borrowed from Lauren

My outfit today is just about the opposite of Lauren's wishlist from yesterday! It's bright colors and summer from top to bottom. I was excited to wear this outfit because it matched my nails perfectly. I had painted them an alien green in preparation for Community Day at Gearbox (I don't know, it seemed video game-ish), and noticed that it looked nice with my blue skirt. Adding a green shirt was just a no-brainer. I never thought green nails could be so lady-like.

Lauren's Fall Wishlist

Fall Wishlist

As I started putting together my wishlist for this fall, I realized that nearly everything I was choosing was black, so much so that you would think I'm one of those people who finds colors terrifying (I think the technical term is New Yorker). Of course, anyone who has seen the way I dress knows that this is far from the case; there isn't a color of the rainbow that I won't wear. Maybe I just have enough color in my closet already, or maybe Texas's endless summer has given me a craving for the dark side, I don't know. But I do know that I will be shopping for a motorcycle jacket, flat over-the-knee boots, cute and comfortable flats (or low wedges), a leather-strap watch, a new sweatshirt (or two), and delicate gold jewelry. And if almost all of these things happen to come in black, so be it.

What's on your current wishlist? Have you started shopping for fall clothes yet (or, if you live in the southern hemisphere, spring)?
