Ok, so I don't have cat scratch fever...I don't actually know what that is. But I do have a kitty cat skirt and a gruesome case of conjunctivitis (both eyes, yayyy), so I think it qualifies.  I spared you guys from having to witness this yucky sight by wearing sunglasses, so you'll just have to trust me that I am not looking or feeling my best.  On the bright side, it's warming up again! For now, that will just have to do.

Well, I thought I was done with tights and boots for good--I even moved my sweaters out of my closet--but I broke them out one last (hopefully) time yesterday when we hit a record low temperature. I know I shouldn't be complaining too much, given the fact that I've lived in a place with real winters (sorry Texas, but yours don't count), but I mean come on! I just can't believe I'm wearing this outfit in mid-April. On the plus side, it was really nice by the time I got home from work.

How is this real life?!  On Saturday, I was so hot at the Renaissance Festival that I rued the day jeans were invented.  On Sunday, I was perfectly comfortable in a skirt and sandals. Then Monday morning, I checked the weather on my phone and what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a high in the 40s! I'd set out a dress and sandals, but quickly dumped them for pants and a long sleeved shirt.  When is this winter gonna end?

Even though it won't be tomorrow, it was definitely sandal weather over the weekend, when I wore this outfit to run errands. So that I could continue wearing my favorite jeans with every conceivable item of clothing in my closet, I tried cuffing them when I realized they hit these shoes at an awkward spot. I haven't cuffed my jeans in a very long time, but after seeing the always-impeccably-dressed Emma Stone do it, I figured I could too.

Twin Styled: Modern Easter Look

I am a huge fan of wearing every pastel item in my closet on Easter, but for this post I thought I'd try to something a little outside of the box.  While black and white geometric doesn't scream egg hunt, mixed with traditional pastels, I think it works.  It even adds a little cool-girl flair without totally sacrificing festivity. 

I would love to wear something similar this year, but when you own a pastel floral skirt, you kinda have to wear it, right? Maybe I'll be cool next year, haha!

Daily Look: Wearing the Pants

While I've always preferred to wear skirts and dresses to work, I've made a concerted effort to diversify my wardrobe to include more pants. Thankfully, dress pants have gotten a lot more fun since I first entered the job market. Who would've thought that boring, conservative khakis could be made so much cuter with moto-inspired stitching and zippers? And the pants revolution could not have come a moment sooner because they're perfect for these crazy spring days when it's in the 40s when I leave the house and the 80s when I get home. It's too cold in the morning for bare legs, and it's too hot in the afternoon for tights (plus wearing tights in April just feels wrong). Thank goodness for pants!

Daily Look: Making Me Blush

I've been told that pale people shouldn't wear pale colors, but darned if I'm going to pass on a butterfly blouse in the sale section.  And besides, being washed out can always be avoided with bright lipstick, right?  Honestly, I am so in love with the pattern on this shirt that I just can't seem to mind about the pastiness issue.
