Daily Look: Peter Pan Syndrome

If there was a more fashion-oriented definition of peter pan syndrome, I would definitely qualify for treatment! Rounded collars make me swoon, and this stylized lacy version had me at hello. It adds femininity and interest to an otherwise simple look, popping against the pale pink of the shirt.

I've loved this skirt ever since I scored an amazing deal on it on vacation in New York City over six years ago . It always makes me want to dance, but as that's not a viable option in my classroom, I had to make do with a little shimmy down the hallway.

Daily Look: Blue Monday

Well, this is just a simple casual look for one of the first blustery days here. I like the over-sized buttons on the sweater, and think they work well with the buckles on the shoes. It was windy and rainy, making my hair a little crazy, but that is the benefit of having short, straight hair. Once you are out of the elements, all it takes is a quick brushing and it will bounce right back.

Twin Styled: Winter Date

I would love to wear this outfit to go on a fun, winter-themed date. I can imagine ice skating, drinking hot chocolate, looking at holiday lights, or even just going to see a good movie in this look. I could also see it working for a festive yet casual event like a cookie exchange or picking out a Christmas tree.

This is a very casual outfit that I wore grocery shopping and lounging. I love this top's big cowl, stripes, and sweatshirt-like pocket, which is perfect for cold hands. These pants are actually cropped, but with fuzzy socks beneath my boots, my ankles are plenty warm. I like these pants and boots together because I can almost imagine the combination on top of a horse. The cargo pocket adds a little volume to the side of the leg, and the seaming is reminiscent of riding breeches. Now all I need is a helmet and crop...oh, and a dapple gray would really tie it all together.

This is one of my favorite Friday looks because it is put together and shows some evidence of effort while still maintaining a casual vibe. Stripes and dots are two classic prints that I can never get enough of, and I feel like they were meant for each other, especially when both patterns are on the subtle side.

Oh, and guess what. I decided to go all super crazy and button this blouse up all the way for the first time after seeing lots of stylish ladies (and gents) do so. What can I say? I'm a wild woman!

This is one of my favorite sweaters because it cracks me up! It is soft and warm, with the added bonus of making me feel grandmotherly (in a good way). I think of it as my homage to the puff paint sweatshirts that so many of my elementary school teachers once prized. I noticed a few sideways glances in the hallway, but I can't help it; I knit, I love a nice cup of tea, and I rock a poodle sweater from time to time. Just call me Nana.
