Daily Look: Patterned Pink

Shirt: Loft // Corduroys: Forever 21 // Shoes: J. Crew // Earrings: Francesca's // Bracelet: H&M

I got this shirt on sale at Loft a couple of weekends ago, and when the cold front blew in shortly after, I worried I wouldn't get another chance to wear it until next spring. Of course, I don't know what I was thinking! Silly Sammy, this is Texas, even January has plenty of days that are warm enough for short sleeves. Just one day after wearing boots and a jacket to work, it is now so warm and humid that I'm considering shorts. I should have known!

Daily Look: School Spirit

Sweater, Earrings: Banana Republic // Skirt: H&M // Tights: J. Crew // Necklace: Ann Taylor // Bracelet: Gift // Gifts: Via Spiga

I wore this red, white, and black outfit on Wednesday, then wore an outfit in the same colors yesterday, which prompted one of my fellow teachers to ask me if I had this much black, white, and red before I started at our school. Confused, I asked her what she meant, and she told me that I had been wearing our school colors for the last two days. I honestly had no idea! So yay for inadvertent school spirit. Go hawks!

Do you have any fun weekend plans? Sam's in town, so we'll be up to some shenanigans.

Daily Look: College Tuesday

Shirt: Congress Clothing // Jacket: Sanctuary via Piperlime // Pants: Gap // Boots: Sam Edelman

It was College Tuesday at my school yesterday, which meant that we could wear a shirt from our alma mater with jeans. Let me tell you, folks, there's not much that gets teachers more excited than being allowed to wear jeans (even though, technically, these are corduroys). But I was more excited about getting to represent #5 Baylor with one of the new t-shirts I picked up while visiting Waco for homecoming a few weeks ago.

Do you ever get to wear jeans to work?

Twin Styled: Call of the Style Coat

ModCloth Style

ModCloth challenged bloggers to style this hooded coat for their Polyvore outfit challenge and I was happy to oblige. We aren't wearing coats yet here in central Texas, so putting together outfits on the internet is about as close as I can get to winter styling. I can't wait to layer on sweaters and coats, although honestly it's probably better in the abstract. Making up a look on Polyvore while sitting under the cool breeze of the air conditioner is a lot more comfortable than facing chilling winds, no matter how cute the outfit!

Daily Look: Sweater Blocked

Sweater: Gap // Jeans: H&M // Boots: Sam Edelman // Earrings: Francesca's // Sunglasses: via Marshall's // Lips: MAC Girl About Town

It may have been in the 70s and sunny today, but I will take any opportunity to wear a sweater (which is kind of funny considering that I only owned 1 or 2 sweaters 5 years ago). If I waited to wear them until it was actually cold outside, they'd be languishing in my closet, waiting until January to be taken for a spin. Instead, I opt for a lightweight, breathable one whenever I get the chance. I wore these jeans with a different sweater out to dinner with my in-laws on Friday, and I wore this colorblocked sweater with different jeans on Saturday, so I decided to put pieces from each outfit together yesterday to go grocery shopping. It was pretty warm in the sun, but there was a nice, cool breeze, which is basically my favorite kind of weather. Meanwhile, in my former residence of Indiana, it's supposed to snow up to 6 inches tonight. Yee-ouch.

What's your temperature cutoff when it comes to wearing a sweater?

Sweater: Loft // Jeans & Shoes: J. Crew // Earrings: NOLA Boutique

I have a confession...I didn't cut the tags off of these pants before wearing them. In fact I still haven't. I keep going back and forth between being in love with them and remembering that I cannot be trusted with white fabrics. I just know that the second I commit and take out the tags, I'm going to sit in something.

I know I should return them, but I just don't think I can. The website may claim that it's a thistle pattern, but those look like bluebonnets to this Texan. And what kind of person would I be if I didn't keep pants decorated with our state flower?

Daily Look: Wrap for Real

Dress: Banana Republic // Shoes: Nine West via DSW // Earrings: Loft // Bracelet: Gift // Lips: Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick

Last week I went the faux wrap route, but this week I wore this true wrap dress. I always manage to get myself a little bit tangled in it, but after a little finagling, I finally figured it out. What I love about this dress is the fact that I can cinch it as tightly as I want around the waist, which is the place that dresses tend not to fit me. It's like free alterations every time I wear it. The downside of this dress is the way it catches the wind in an it's not as cute as when Marilyn does it kinda way. Luckily, no one was around to see my mishap.
