Halloween Costume Inspiration: The Goldbergs

I don't know if you are watching The Goldbergs yet, but it is heartwarming, hilarious, and full of amazing '80s fashion.  The show centers around a dorky kid named Adam, but his mom, played by Wendi McLendon-Covey, steals the show.  Not only does she go to war with anyone who threatens the happiness of her "delicious babies," she rocks the socks off of some seasonal sweaters and patterned jumpsuits.  Her outfits are so fun that I thought they would make a pretty fantastic Halloween costume.

When I was doing an image search, I noticed that cool sister Erica's wardrobe is just as ridiculous as her mother's.  I guess the line between cool and lame in the '80s is just not discernible to the modern eye.  So, I recreated both of their fabulous looks to give any inspired readers more choices.  Turns out, the key element of these costumes--legwarmers--are easier to find than I would have predicted.  Toss those over some leggings, yank down the shoulder of an old sweater, and layer on the Aqua Net for a Halloween costume that is sure to bring out your inner smother.  Or, if you are too rad for that, two-toned shorts and a side pony may be the way to go.  There are just so many options.

Anyone else feeling the '80s this Halloween?  If I can find a wig in time, I would LOVE to go as Bev this year.
