Even though I got married in the summer, I've always thought that fall and winter weddings were some of the most beautiful. There's just something romantic about the snow on the ground (well, maybe not in Texas...), the twinkling fairy lights, and the chill in the air that makes you want to cozy up with a mug of hot chocolate. But when you're invited to a cold-weather wedding, it's a little bit harder to decide what to wear. Men have it so easy; they can just throw on the same old suit they always wear. As a woman, however, there are a lot more choices. With that in mind, I decided to shop for dresses that would look lovely at a fall or winter wedding.

This is the time of year to wear fabulous fabrics in saturated jewel tones and metallics. Look for taffeta, satin, velvet, sequins, and silk. Still, if you're anything like me, you don't just want to look great; you also want to stay warm and toasty. But if you've been shopping lately, you know that it's hard to find dresses that aren't sleeveless.
