Last Friday night I joined my boyfriend at a huge release party for the newest Borderlands game. Even though I'm not much of a gamer, it's pretty cool to be dating someone who has helped create something that so many people will enjoy. I was feeling very proud!
The party was a blast, although the insanely loud music may have damaged my hearing. It was worth it though because somehow it got the ever-reluctant Lloyd out on the dance floor at one point. The only thing that rivaled getting him to boogie down was when I got to meet Notch, the creator of Minecraft, who was extremely nice and didn't blink an eye when I started to geek out. He even allowed me to take a picture so I could prove to my Minecraft-obsessed students that it really happened! Overall it was a pretty fantastic night.
