Chilly autumn temperatures and falling leaves have put me in the mood to shop for some boots and booties. I've rounded up some of my favorite versions from some of my favorite stores, including Endless, Aldo, Piperlime, Zappos, J. Crew, and Banana Republic. While basic black and brown boots are classic and always in style, I'm loving the many uniquely-colored shoes that are currently available in shades of gray, cognac, caramel, and toffee. I've also been drawn to laces on everything from riding boots to tough-chick combat boots. What kind of boots are you looking for this fall?

I love all of these boots. I always have a hard time finding ones that are comfortable over my huge calves. suggestions?

Laces! I love the way they look and they make it easier to fit since boots never seem to be perfect on the calf. You already had such muscular calves, they must be insane now that you are getting into running!

I was thinking the same thing, although you have to find boots with functional laces--sometimes they're just for show. Another option is to look for boots with elastic panels that stretch for a perfect fit; my riding boots have them, and they're so comfortable. Or just avoid this problem altogether and get a cute pair of booties!
